A Quick Sunday Update
Hey There!
I hope that everyone had a good or is having a good weekend. We finally had a dry and kind of sunny day.
Not to gloat, but I had a fantastic weekend. It started on Friday evening, when I had a “date night” with MH, and we we went to our favorite Sushi place. This is not a place that you would drive by and stop at. It sits back in a strip mall, and off the beaten path, but we go here at least once a month if not more. As soon as we walk in, they make MH favorite VERY DRY MARTINI. That right there makes it worth while. The Sushi here is always very very fresh, the service is more then excellent, and we always leave happy.
Saturday started with a gluten free, vegan breakfast at Good Karma Coffee. I neglected to take pictures, but even MH thought this food was very good. Their coffee is awesome, and the service was above and beyond. It was a rainy dreary Saturday, so this was a perfect way and place to spend Saturday morning. I tried the waffle with apple compote, and MH had the pancakes with pure maple syrup We also shared an oatmeal sandwich cookie, all of course, gluten fee and vegan. The staff is more than great. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you are in the Atlanta area, and need a quick but good gluten free breakfast or lunch, check it out.
Sunday we got an great walk in, then very leisurely enjoyed out coffee, and G got his special treat, a Puppacino. All was good.
We had a few errands to run, and then decided to have lunch at the King and Duke. Now this is not a place we would have randomly stopped at, but it was talked about on TV one morning, so we thought we would try it. We had deviled egg appetizer, along with pigs in a blanket. I cannot comment on the pigs in the blankets, since I did not eat these(because of the “blankets”) but the deviled eggs were awesome. We both had had the burger, no bun for me, and these burgers were one of the best I have had in a Long time. The meat was perfect, could have been cooked a minute less, but still good, and fries were good. However, by the time I got to my fries I was quite full, so only ate about 4 or 5. The service was very good. I would give this place thumbs up, and definitely worth checking out.
All in all, a good weekend. I also did a lot of research on inflammatory eating and diets over the weekend. as I will be discussing this with my rheumy this week. It just sound very restrictive, and if I can’t do it 100%, I feel it is not worth doing. I would be interested in hearing from those who are or are eating in this manner.
Well readers and friends, time to get things lined up for Monday AM. As always, be happy, be active, be thankful, and HYDRATE.
More to come tomorrow.
xoxo
