Sadness for Las Vegas
Hello all! Did you hear about the shootings in Las Vegas? Wow, this is kind of scary, it just goes to show anything can happen to anyone, anywhere! Just be safe out there and aware of your surrondings! My prayers go out to all those injured, and the families of those killed.
I had an awesome weekend, I hope everyone did as well. We really did not have plans, other than to watch some football, but we seemed busy.
I posted this picture last week, we had found this at Whole Foods. I made waffles from this on Friday, (for dinner) and I am sorry, I neglected to take pictures, but these were great! This is not something I normally would have bought, but am so glad I did. I added extras protein powder, and my only regret was, I did not make extra’s that I could freeze for breakfast during the week. I will just have to make another batch to freeze. If you like Pumpkin Spice, you should try these.
I tried to get a good workout in this morning, but apparently, my heart just wasn’t in it. I did okay but I had to push to get through it. My Workout was:
Sumo Squats 3 sets of 12 each and I started with 25 lbs dumb bells and increased each set
Leg Press 3 sets of 12 each and I started with 115 lbs and increased each set
Dead Lifts 3 sets of 12 each and I started with 25 lbs dumb bells and increased each set
Step Ups 3 sets of 15 each side
Kettle Bell Squats 3 sets of 12 each and I started with 25 lbs kettle bells and increased each set
Leg Ext 3 sets of 12 each and I started with 100 lbs and increased each set
Sprints down the hall 1 sprint after each 2 exercises
Then 10 minutes of stretching-according to my Garmin, I did not burn many calories which was kind of disappointing. I WILL do better tomorrow.
For what ever reason, I woke up starving this morning, but did not have time to eat until after I worked out. Maybe I need to change that and eat first? When I did eat, of course I started with a BIG cup of coffee and collagen. For breakfast, I had found a new yogurt at the store last week that I had, I added some protein powder, 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/2 a banana and a little almond butter. The yogurt was really good.
The weekend was a little cooler here, so this is when I REALLY start to drink more coffee. I do not know if that is good or bad, but I am now having my 2nd BIG cup of coffee. If you are in the Boulder area, you should check this coffee out.
Speaking of Boulder, I will be in Denver, actually, right by the airport, at the end of September, and will probably spend a day in Boulder. If anyone has really good ideas for Gluten free restaurants, or good coffee shops, please send to me. Or, if you know of places I should visit, walking areas, scenic areas, since it has been a REALLY long time since I have been to Denver, just send me your ideas.
