My Journey

My Life, one day at a time!

What a Day Today has BEEN!!

Well pumpkin heads, my Friday in Boulder/Longmont was one hell of a day.  I have so much enjoyed this, and the view of the mountains is such a zen like feeling.  And we really got lucky on the weather.

The day started out with the very short drive to Boulder.  For some reason, I thought this would take much longer.  We drove around Boulder for a little bit, to kind of get our bearings, but then we parked and started to wonder,  We were a little early, so there were not a lot of the little shops open yet.  We had not had breakfast yet, so we headed to the Dushanbe Teahouse. IMG_2305 This was recommended to us by several different people.  This was very unique building and very unique and different experience.  The inside is very tropical and calmingIMG_2299IMG_2300-1  This is a view of the ceilingIMG_2301  Once you are seated, they bring you the food menu and the tea menu, which is very extensive.  I had a Blood Orange Chocolate tea and MH had an aged white tea.  Both we excellent.  They bring the little teapots out, with an egg timer, IMG_2302-1  When the time is done, so is your tea.  Supposedly, this is optimum brewing time.  The tea was the highpoint of the visit.

The food was good, mine was much better then MH.  I had a pork belly fried rice dish with saffron and sunny egg,IMG_2303-1 while MH had a dish that was much more Persian flavoredIMG_2304-1  Now don’t misunderstand, both were very good, mine was much better.  If you do go to Boulder it is worth checking out.

By the time we finished here, all of the little shops and stores were open.  We wondered around Boulder for a couple of hours, made several small purchases, and had another coffee IMG_2307-1 at Ozo Coffee.  This was good coffee, but not nearly has good as the Huckleberry Roasters Coffee from yesterday.

When we finished here, we drove into Longmont.  I thought there would be more to do , here, but not that much.  We did stop by Oskar Blues Brewery.IMG_2309-1  I am not a beer drinker, but they just started making soda, so I had a IMG_2308-1Black Cherry Soda.  Amazingly Good.  Very good tasting, and not TOO sweet.

Again we wondered around for some time, and by then it was time to eat, or at least for me, the bottomless pit, so we went to Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids, and had one of the best burgers I have had for a long time.  This was made to perfection, my only regret, I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture.  Again, if you get the chance, you need to try this place, they have a pretty extensive menu.

Then we headed back to the hotel.  I enjoyed the drive back because the sun was just setting over the mountains, how beautiful.

Of course, I did not get my fill of sweets, so MH ran me by IMG_2311-1so I could get desert for tonight.

Little Miss Piggy me, I picked up a cupcake of tonight, and a rice krispie bar for tomorrow.  What happens if I eat both tonight?

We kiddlets, I need to get a few things done yet, like eat my cupcake, but there will be a bit more tomorrow, so check back again tomorrow.
