I am BACK!!

I am BACK!!

Well Hello All, Remember ME???  Yes, I have been ver MIA, but wow, what a holiday season.  Since MH has been off work since the 22nd of December, I worked and did not do much of anything else, obviously, nothing on my blog.  BUT, I am back, and as promised, I will be more regular and diligent with my blog.  I want you all to have something new to always look forward to.

We started on Christmas Holiday on December 26th, and we had an absolute wonderful time with OD, OS, and his awesome wife.  She fits so well with our tribe.

We ate SOO much good food, IMG_2575.jpg This was a seven course meal we so much enjoyed at Single Thread.  We had wine pairings with this as well.  This was such an enjoyable experience, and if I had one MINOR complaint, it was almost too long,  BUT oh so good!

We drank a LOT of very good wine.  We had several wonderful wine pairing tastings, if you have never done this, you need to try this.  IMG_2528-1.jpg  In one of the tasting rooms, I saw this sign, how perfect and absolutely appropriate.

We saw so many beautiful sights.IMG_2556.jpg I caught a picture of this bird when we went to the coast one day.  I think he was posing for me.

And of course, there was the iconic Flamingo Sign, IMG_2515.jpg  You tell me, Las Vegas or Santa Rosa??????

The entire trip was so awesome, but now, the holidays are over and it is back to work  and back to exercise and back to healthy eating😞

I am trying to start this week of on a good note. Mr G and I got a decent 2 mile jalk in, (I really wish it would warm up)  then I did a pretty good wo.  But, I have a VERY long list of work to get done, so I did cut it short, a little.

I am trying to eat less, but smarter, so I started the day off with a half cup of yogurt and a slice of baked oatmeal I made.  Of YA!  I actually made some baked oatmeal.  I had some of this on vacation and it was awesome!  I decided it would be good to have on hand, so I made a pan.  My only mistake was I followed directions exactly, and this is more like a bar, rather then the cake I had in CA.  I will make it again but make it in a much smaller pan.  I will take pictures next time and share.

For lunch I made a BIG salad of power greens, boiled eggs, left over pork chop and a dill pickle slice.  This was great.  While we were on holiday, we ate salads for lunch several days and really enjoyed them.

I also started drinking Kombucha again.  I used to this regularly, and then, like everything else, got out of the habit.  I was reminded of this on holiday by OS and C, so I am getting back in the habit.  Whole Foods has some really good ones out there.

I have made several (I hate to call them New Years Resolution) but that is kind of what they are.  I really need to get much more organized, keep in much better touch with family and friends, and in general, just be much healthier.  Again, while on holiday, I have learned to pay much more attention to what I eat, and to not be afraid to ask for Gluten Free options.  This has become very critical.  Speaking of, if anyone knows of some very good Gluten Free Brunch, bakeries, or lunch places in Atlanta, please share with me.  You can send any ideas on this to

I am still contemplating the camera, but until I get my work caught up, and oh, I need to get our taxes together, and a few other things done, I have put that on the back burner.
