It Friday! And pretty darn hot! I just came in from running (walking some errands ) and I think I got my sparkle on! So, I must hydrate! Everyone take a drink!
Well, I am still behind but I think I did make some headway this week. I pretty much got my shit together about working out, or at least for now! Now, I just need to figure how to get a little more energy when I am working out. I am not quite getting my heart rate up to where I feel it should. Today, my max heart rate was 156 and my low was 57, so far. Next week I am aiming for my max heart rate to get up at least 160.
I had a plan for my work out today, but once I got to the gym, I had an entirely different idea and changed my entire wo. But that is okay, I still got a good wo in. Let me know if you want to post what I did everyday, I most certainly will, I just don’t want to bore anyone, so send me a message and let me know.
I think Monday is going to be a little easier day, or maybe just the day from hell. You all know I work mostly with the Chinese, and for the next three days they are celebrating their Dragon Boat Festival. I am not really sure what this is for, I have learned that the Dragon Boat Festival is a celebration where many eat rice dumplings (zongzi), drink realgar wine (xionghuangjiu), and race dragon boats. Other activities include hanging icons of Zhong Kui (a mythic guardian figure), hanging mugwort and calamus, taking long walks, writing spells and wearing perfumed medicine bags.
All of these activities and games such as making an egg stand at noon were regarded by the ancients as an effective way of preventing disease, evil, while promoting good health and well-being. (I think I need to try this) People sometimes wear talismans to fend off evil spirits or they may hang the picture of Zhong Kui, a guardian against evil spirits, on the door of their homes.
In the Republic of China, the festival was also celebrated as “Poets’ Day” in honor of Qu Yuan, who is known as China’s first poet. Chinese citizens traditionally throw bamboo leaves filled with cooked rice into the water and it is also customary to eat tzungtzu and rice dumplings.
It affects me only because that means Monday I will not get much, if any, correspondence, or work, from my Chinese colleagues. But, what that does mean for me is I (or I will try) to get a lot of work done and caught up, organizing, calling customers, researching how to start a podcast, cleaning up my computer, all of that kind of stuff that I always say I will “do tomorrow”!
I know, I am SO hooked on podcasts. Today, the one I was listening to was talking about psychic readings, and being able to see things or talk to people. They went into a little detail on this. One thing they said was you should read your horoscope every day to stay in tune with the other side. I actually used to read my horoscope every day, and a lot of times, whatever it said, some part of it was true. I also used to get “feelings” when something was or did happen, and again I was almost always correct. It got to the point, when I did get these feelings I contacted hubs and kidz to make sure everything was ok! I haven’t had any “feelings” for a long time, but than again, (I am knocking on wood) nothing has happened for some time! Ok, Yes, I am going to start reading my horoscope every day again, and I kind of want to get a physic reading. I just think it would be fun. Maybe I will get MD to do this with me! What do you think?
I am SERIOUSLY going to try to make I have everything I need, I just need to make the time to do this, so I need to get my fingers working away! Don’t these look so good!
Have any of you every had acupuncture done? I did have the cupping done, now I would like to try acupuncture. I am not sure if it would be helpful, but I figure it can’t hurt. Let me know if you have tried this.
Well, I must get back and finish up at least some of the stack on my desk! ATW is taking WAY too much of my time, I need to get this podcast up and running and generating income!
Any who, I hope you all have a good weekend, stay cool, and be kind to your Fathers! Treat them well! Maybe bake them a cake!
Till Monday Gang,

Drink lots, be active, be happy, and see you all Monday.
