My Journey

My Life, one day at a time!

Hello Again!  Did everyone have a good weekend?  Did all of you dad’s out there have a good day?  I know that hubs had a very good Father Days’ since he got to have lunch with  OD and OS called and they talked a long time.  He is not real good with words or feelings, but he gets so happy when he gets to talk or spend time with our children.  They are very special to him, we really need to do this more often.

We also had a great weekend.  Those of you that know myself and hubs, know he LOVES food!  (Something I wish I could change a bit with him, but it is what it is) so, since this was Fathers Day weekend, we did a lot of food stuff.  Saturday, we kind of took a little off the beaten path trip.

Our first stop was Sweet Auburn Market.  We have been there before, but it has been a long time.  I love to wonder around here, all of the VERY fresh produce, the meats, it all looks so good.  But of course, right when you walk in the door, they have the little shop that sells flavored popcorns and sweets!  Of course, we each got a container of popcorn, (luckily, they were not that big) and hubs got a praline.  I couldn’t leave here without getting G a little treat, so I got him a pig ear,  (he did not like this at all, so I gave it to my Grand dogs)IMG_3086

Our next stop, we came across another Revolution Donut Shop.  We know they have REALLY good coffee so we stopped to just get coffee.  Well, again, hubs has no will power, so he did get a caramel bacon donut.  IMG_3085For some reason, these did not even tempt me  YAY!!!  This was a fun place to sit and enjoy coffee and watch people.

After this, hubs had a found a place he wanted to have lunch at, Ann’s Snack Shack.  All they have is burgers, hot dogs and fries.  We got there about 11:30, which apparently was there busy time, and it was hard to find a place to park.  We finally got parked, and placed our order.  The bad thing about this was that it took over an hour to get our food.  They are not speedy, BUT, the burger was probably one of the best burgers I ever had.  It was a very good sized portion, very tasty and seasoned nicely, and cooked to perfection.  (Did I mention this is all outside, so it was kind of warm?)  But, once we got the food, it was worth it.  I am not sure we will come here again, just because it is a good drive from our condo, but it was a nice lunch.

As you can see, since we had lunch on Sunday also, it was kind of food filled weekend.  But, it was good food.

On to other things.  Things I like to discuss.  For example, exercise!   I did get a good workout in this morning, I was a little slow getting started.  For whatever reason, I did not sleep to well again last night.  No matter what I do, it seems I usually have 3 or 4 nights in a row that my sleep is worse than crappidoodle, and I am going through that stage right now😖  Tonight will be better, I hope.

Anyway, my exercise this morning.  I try different things, and I always end up going back to what works for me the best.  I like to lift weights, and mix in some body weights in between.  I am committing myself to keep this routine up for two months, and see if I can loose the last couple of lbs I need to loose, and if I can lean out ANY!  I will take a pic tomorrow am and then again in 2 months, and you can be the judges.

I did FINALLY make the no bake unicorn cookies4-ingredient-no-bake-unicorn-cookies-5  Mine did not look exactly like this, maybe because  I did not have almond flour so I used regular gluten free flour and I used honey instead of maple syrup, but they taste GREAT and took literally, about 5 minutes to make!  These are what mine look likeIMG_3087  Just as an added healthy benefit, I drizzled coconut oil over the top, and on some, I stuck an almond on top.  SO good!

I think  I need to get back to work.  I thought that today would be an easier day, since it is the Dragon Boat Festival, and I got very little correspondence in, but I had a long list of other things I needed to get done, and I got most of them done, but still a few things to do.  And, tomorrow AM I have a Dr, follow up, so that will take a good bit out of my morning.  So, I best be getting back to

Please feel free to leave comments, ideas, suggestions on topics you would like me to blog on, and until tomorrow, remember to hydrate, let’s all take a drink now, be active, get up and move, be happy, keep a smile on your face, and make today the best day yet!

I would love to hear your feedback
