Hot Green Matcha Tea!
I am on a streak! Three days in a row now! I should not make fun of that, I am seriously back and back for good. So please check back daily, ok, only Monday thru Friday will I do new posts, and share this sight with your friends. Remember, my goal is to reach 10,000 readers, so PASS IT ON!!!
So how is everyone today? All GREAT here. I mentioned that I had an appointment with my GYN today, it went very good. I still have to get my mammogram, I will schedule that later this week, but everything else was good. This Dr. is really quick with the exam, (which you women can appreciate) but takes time to answer all of your questions, in a language we can all understand. I did have several questions for her. I think I may have talked about that yesterday. My main question and concern was if she had a recommendation for a GOOD skin lotion, to help prevent dryness and the elephant looking skin. Her recommendation, and she said go ahead and use either one of these on your face as well, were Sarna and Cerave. I have looked into both of these already, and the Cerave has a lot of different options. I think this is the route I will try, AFTER I use up the lotion I currently have. Have any of you tried either of these?
I also asked about getting rid of belly fat and building muscle, if, at my age, these were even possible. She said absolutely. Her thoughts on this were first, make sure I eat enough protein. I should have at least 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight. I have 103 grams ALREADY today!!!!! She also said to eat about 1450 to 1500 calories a day, and when I lift weight, go HEAVIER. I thought that I was lifting pretty heavy, but I know I get complacent and lazy. So, I am going to make it a conscious effort to lift heavier. Tomorrow, I will post the work out I have been doing this week and the weights I am at, and you can tell me your thoughts on the weights. Also, for belly fat, she said to really get rid of belly fat at my more mature age, you have to be CONSISTENT and work your core and stomach at least 5-6 days a week. She said that planks or pilates are really good for core. So, in the evening, when I do my stretching, I will do more planks, and core work. I think I need to take a “before” picture tomorrow and then in maybe 6 weeks, another, and we can compare. Good Idea??? Let me know your thoughts and opinions on this. You can send your comments to me at
We also talked briefly about a KETO diet, hormone replacement, and RA. She really was not a strong proponent of the Keto diet, she felt that as long as you eat a “healthy” diet, lots of vegetables, and as she said, a LOT of protein, following a Keto diet was not necessary. But, she did say to avoid a lot of sugary foods, which I already do, and she knows I try to eat Gluten Free, which she likes. So, other than more protein, I am not changing the way I eat, for now. I haven’t discussed this with OS yet, but I am going ask OD for her input as well. I like lots of opinions. And she also felt that since I am in good health, and no issues, Hormone Replacement is NOT necessary. That was exactly what I wanted to hear.
Because my morning was so rushed, and I did not get to enjoy my coffee, as usual, I stopped on my way from the Dr’s office, (I had a list of ATW errands I had to do on the way back) and I got a Hot Matcha Green Tea. This was so great. I had not had one for a long time, and it tasted great. This may be my new morning go to drink! I am trying to get back into drinking more tea, and this will be a great start! Have you ever tried this?
Again, I forgot to take pictures of the dinner I made last night. The Mahi Mahi was awesome! I breaded this VERY LIGHTLY in potato flour and broiled. And the cauliflower that I made in the air fryer was maybe the best we ever had. Just a little crunchy, perfect. Tonight is just sausage with Jerusalem Artichokes. If I remember, I will take pictures of the Artichokes in the air fryer. If you have not tried these, you really should, they are healthy and tasty.
On our attempt to eat better, and healthier, the hubs NORMAL breakfast is yogurt, a banana and granola. I am not (was not) a big fan of granola, so I let him pick out his own granola. I had to run to the store yesterday, and he asked me to pick up the granola he liked. I was looking at all of the granola’s and reading labels. The granola he likes is Natures Path Grain Free Granola. It is Gluten Free and Paleo friendly. As I was reading labels, this is a really healthy granola. It has very low carbs and sugar. And also, not a lot of calories. I had a handful when I got home, and it is GREAT!!!! I have actually contacted them to see if I can become an affiliate with them. I will let you know when I get feedback.
Well, again, it is that time again, got to get back to ATW and other things. But come back tomorrow and I will share my work out and weight with you. And, please share this site with your friends, so that I can get more readers and eventually, this will be my full time gig!
So until tomorrow
