Let me rest mom, please!!!
Well looks like everyone made it through the weekend and here it is, Monday all ready! Let’s get this show on the road!
I had really good intent of starting this blog last night already, and then, surprise, I got lazy. Well, it was more like tired and hungry and I just ran out of time.

Did you do anything exciting over the weekend? Our weekend was pretty quiet, the hubs had to leave about lunch time yesterday so all we did on Sunday was walk and then we did go to the gym and sit in the hot tub and sauna for some time. It felt GREAT! I really don’t know why we don’t try to do that at least once a week! Ok, put that on the list of things to do every week.
I had the hubs drop me off at the mall on his way to the airport yesterday, ( he asked if I was sure I wanted to walk home since it was cold and windy, but I had my hat and gloves, so I was good) I had to go back to the eye doctor and switch out one of my contacts. We are working on new lenses and strengths, so this usually takes a try or two. I got this done and thought that I would shop for some new eye make up, really needed this, but I walked into Sephora and they were so busy, and I just did not feel like looking that hard. I decided I wanted a coffee for the walk home, figured it would help to keep me warm, and right outside Sephora is the the Macaroon Queen, and I remembered they had really good coffee. I got a coffee here, and guess what, if you buy a coffee you get a free macaroon. Well, who is going to turn down a free macaroon???? So many to chose from
It was hard to decide. I picked the Thin Mint
And it was awesome. I saved it until the very end of the day, and savored every bite! BTW, the hot coffee did the trick for the walk home!
OK, on to other things. My workout today was pretty good. I decided I really need to mix things up. So, first, G and I got a decent walk in, it was a little over 2.5 miles. (It was damp and cold and I know, I am making excuses for not going further) After that, I got on the treadmill, my goal was 50 calories I got just a bit over 50 calories and .77 miles. This was a good quick treadmill workout. Then I did a completely new and different work out. I am going to list briefly what I did:
I did four sets of each, 7 reps of each: I used kettle bells for this workout.
Single Arm Bent Over Row
Single Arm High Pull
Alternate Asymmetrical Kettle Bell Rack Squat
Figure 8 Kettle Bell Lunge
Single Arm Kick Back
Single Arm Bi Curl
2 Arm Pull Up
This was a good work out session. Tomorrow I will mix it up even more.
My caloric intake for Friday was 1506 and my caloric burn wasMy Macros and nutrients were
A little better mix but I still need more protein. My nutrients were
A little too much sugar, but all in all, not too bad. I drank 72 oz of H2O on Friday, not enough water.
I was catching up on one of my favorite podcasts over the weekend and so much good advice, it really had me thinking. It was all about being confident and making 2019 the year I become more confident. Some of these things I already do, when I think of them, but I think that I am going to make sticky notes, and post them on my bathroom mirror, so that I do these every day. The 5 steps to being more confident are:
Compliment Yourself. I used to do this every morning, as I was getting ready, look in the mirror and compliment myself on something. I got out of that habit, so I need to get back into that.
No more self deprecation. This is so easy to do, especially if people are pointing out our flaws. QUIT THIS! Be positive, tell yourself how good you are!
Unfollow accounts that make you doubt yourself or make you feel less than. I really need to do this. I have been unfollowing some accounts, some of those accounts on Social Media are just redunkulous! The women’s body’s are nothing I am ever going to achieve, and do I really want to? I have also started to unfollow some of the food accounts I follow, they just make me hungry. So as you scroll through your IG accounts, or FB accounts, you might want to unfollow the accounts that do not make you feel good about yourself.
Take steps each day that you know will make you feel your best. This might be a little different for everyone. Some of the simple things you can do to help you feel your best and set you up for success day after day –
- Eating 3 square meals and not overly snacking
- Working out 5-6 days per week
- Staying away from sugar and alcohol as much as possible
- Drinking over a gallon of water each day
- Staying off social media as much as possible
Try this for a couple of weeks and see if you don’t feel better, maybe even the best you have in a long time.
Take a closer look at the people your surround yourself with. You have heard this over and over, surround yourself that make you feel good, that make you happy, not people that make you feel bad about yourself. Take a good look at your circle of friends!
I have started TODAY to follow these simple five steps, and 2019 is going to be my year of Confidence. Are you on the band wagon with me? Let me know.
