Grab your Buddy and Work Out Today
Did you and your buddy work out today? March 1 is National Buddy Workout Day! I walked with both of my buddies today. It was really comfortable out this morning, I just wish it would stay like this until spring arrived!!!! But, by the looks of some of the trees, Mother Nature knows something we don’t. Hopefully, this means spring is just around the corner. I have also seen daffodils blooming already😄
What was your positive words to yourself for today?
Positivity is a choice that I choose to make.
I will not take other peoples negativity personally.
My commitment to myself is real.
Those were my positive words to Tamie today! I have been telling myself all day that I WILL get through this HUGE stack of work on my desk, and you know what? I am making a dent in it! I BELIEVE this is working! How do you feel? Keep on telling yourself “You got this” and you will have it.
Man, today is the first of March already! I can’t believe how fast time is going! I like starting a new month, because I get turn over my calendar and see the new picture. For March, my Runners calendar has a picture of a wooden bridge over water in Laos. It is BEAUTIFUL. Makes me want to go to Laos just to run! (Ok, maybe I need to start running first)
Ok kiddies, how is everyone today. (Side note, we just got the HARDEST downpour, and now, the sky is blue and the sun is out, what the ????) Anyway, how are you? I am really really good. Well, ok, not really, but I have my mind made up I am GREAT! And I feel great today. I have started listening to a new podcast, “Emotional Badass” and I am listening to one right now. It was a little who hoo for me at first, but I kept listening in the back ground, and it is starting to grow on me. I guess maybe I am appreciating it a little more today because they are talking about yoga and being positive. I have recently learned that for a while, I will need to stop lifting weights, (that I really like) and do more actual running and start doing yoga. I don’t need to do this for a little while yet, but I am thinking, why not start NOW, and who knows, maybe I will like the change and really get into running and yoga! (ok, I know that I said I was not going to talk about health, foods, exercise, doctors and all things related, but, these are the things that I really like, and when I start my podcast, that is what I will talk about, so, I AM going back to talking about all of these things.) I hope you are okay with that! (OD, you just have to skip over those parts because, because I said!)
I have also been told that I will need to change my diet up some, and this will be life long commitment, as it should be. I need to really watch my fat intake, very low or little sugar, watch how I feel when I eat dairy, and, although I do not eat any gluten, be gluten free. I was told to really focus on healthy produce, (lots of fruits and vegetables) very little fat and lots of proteins. So, if any of you out there in reader land have recipes or even meal plans of this, please let me know. Please send them to me.
As for the exercise, like I said, no weight lifting and more running and yoga. I AM starting this Monday, better sooner than later, and I AM going to try to do at least one yoga class a week. Now I just have to find a good class I like! We are members of LA Fitness, and I know they offer yoga, so I will start there. They also just opened a new studio near me that offers Hot Yoga. After I do yoga for awhile again, I think I will do one of these. I did a hot yoga class a few years back and loved it, other than everyone dripping sweat all over. This time, I will go MUCH more prepared. If you have done hot yoga, let me know what your thoughts on it were. And if you have a favorite type of yoga you do like to do, what is it? Suggestions of what classes to start with?
Ok, enough of that stuff. If you have received the samples of the Legends Peanut Butter or Almonds that I sent out to those of you who wanted them, what did you think? I opened the Cheddar Cheese Almonds last night, well, actually the hubs did, and these are great! They could really be addictive. I am going to put one bag of the almonds and one pouch of the peanut butter in my purse for those times I get HANGRY! (Just thought, might not be classified as low fat??? I need to check the fat content on these) But let me know what you think of yours. If you have not received your samples yet, or would still like to try them, I have a FEW left, just send me a message and I will get some out to you.
Who has plans for the weekend? Of course, we have all of our usual errands to run, (our refrigerator and cupboards are really getting bare) and I already told you the the hubs wants to go to the mall and look for some things for him, but that is about it. I am thinking, especially if the weather is rainy like they say it is going to be, we need to get foot massages. Have you ever done this? I do mean a foot massage, not just a pedicure. I had this done one other time and it feels so GOOD!!! And for whatever reason, my feet have been really tired the last few days. I think a massage is a great idea, that way, Monday, when I do start the running, my feet will be all rested and ready to FLY!!! Ya, good idea!
Gang, hate to be a party pooper but got to go. I am getting through my pile of work, because I am being VERY positive, but I don’t have a lot of time left either, and I really do not want to have to do a lot of work over the weekend.
