More calmness in the city!
Yes, I am here, just a little late today. I didn’t sleep that good last night, but woke up early and thought I had lots of energy. I got through our walk good, got a GREAT work out in, and after that, I kind of lost my ambition, not sure why. It could be because my lower body is VERY sore and stiff today. This is from my Monday workout that was Lower Body. Man, I thought I was in MUCH better shape than this. This just proves my point that I have been slacking for a LONG time! Time to quit lolly gagging around and get to it. Do you hear that OD, you had better kick it up a notch too if you want to be able to keep up with me!
I had better shut up before I hurt myself keying!
Back to it, my workout yesterday was:
Back/Tris/ Abs, I did three sets of 6 reps, 8 reps and 6 reps
Wide Grip Lat Pull Down 55 lbs 55 lbs 60 lbs
Rope OH Tri Ext 30 lbs 35 lbs 35 lbs
Plank 1 for each set of 1 minute each
Seated Rows 90 lbs 90 lbs 90 lbs
Dumb Bell Kick Back 12 lbs 15 lbs 15 lbs
Kettle Bell Abs 10 lbs 10 lbs 10 lbs
Bent Over Row 12 lbs 15 lbs 15 lbs
I also, as always, did Jumping Jacks, Running in Place and Sprints up and down the hall. Now, these are not heavy weights, but, I actually went back and checked today because I forgot, it has only been six weeks since my gall bladder was removed, so, I am taking it a little easier. I will only be able to work out 3 days next week, (because of going to the wedding) but AFTER that, I am promising you and me, and OD, I am taking it very seriously again, no more lazy ass Tamie!
I did pretty darn good on my macros yesterday. I did really good on the fat, I could of had a little more protein and a little less carbs, but all in all much better than I had been doing.
I ate a total of 1704 calories and my total burn was 1999.
My detailed macro breakdown was
It is kind of hard to eat like this, (meaning this much protein,) but I am sure it will get easy, as long as I keep it up.
I was looking for some really healthy jerky yesterday. This is a good snack and a really good travel snack.
OK, I will come back to that in a minute. I was listening to a podcast this morning, and they were talking about “snacks”. Now, these people are REALLY into fitness, being healthy, eating healthy! They said there is no food called “snacks”. If you just keep this kind of food out of your kitchen, out of your house, when you are sitting around, reading, watching TV, or just being bored, and you “think” you are hungry and want a snack, if all you have is food you have to prepare, salads, chicken breasts, something like that, and you decide NOT to, you really aren’t hungry and you really don’t need anything!
I TRY to keep snack food out of the house. (Not like it used to be, the old hubs always wanted chips, chocolate candy, maybe ice cream whatever) but no more. I have things like yogurt, fruit, vegetables, so if you don’t feel like eating any of that, you really aren’t hungry.
Anyway, back to the jerky. I found this on line, Have any of you tried this? I think I am going to order some, this is what it says about it:
The Basics
Biltong is South Africa’s version of beef jerky. The biggest difference is in the way it’s made. Instead of dehydrating the meat, biltong is air dried – keeping it tender and juicy!
Health Facts
It’s high in protein, and we use grass fed beef. It’s free from artificial preservatives, and absolutely zero sugars of any kind! It’s great for Paleo diets and officially Whole30 approved.
How can I eat it?
It’s great for post workout snacking, hiking trips, road trips, or just stocking your office/home kitchen! It’s great in salads, pizzas, breakfast, and even sandwiches.
How’s it made?
Our beef gets cut into strips and dipped into marinade. It then gets sprinkled with spices and hung to dry for 3-6 days. Strips are taken down and cut into the delicious bites youknow and love! Simple as that.
I like the idea that it is air dried, and also the nutritional value looks good A lot of bang for your buck! I just decided I am ordering this today and when I get it, I will let you know how it is. I think this will be a GREAT food to travel with and we have a little travel coming up.
I need your help again. I am getting really desperate for things to watch, more to the point, to binge out on. If you have any suggestions for shows on Amazon Prime or Netflix, please share! These can be series, documentaries, movies, anything.
Also, I do need some new podcasts ideas. I have been doing a lot more listening recently and running out of podcasts. I need to clean up my phone and delete the ones I just do not like any more, and find some new ones.
Please send your suggestions to
Well doodle bugs, it is time to get back to ATW. I really was pretty lazy this morning, it seems the less I have to do, the less I get done. The Chinese are on their Labor Day Holiday, (this is kind of like our Memorial Day Holiday) so I am doing that get caught up and catch up and get ahead stuff. If you guys would just buy more from the companies I work with, I could be working on my soon to come podcast! So please, check out all of the companies I work with and buy something!
But got to go, get things done. So, remember to send me an e-mail with your suggestions, and leave a comment below, please. Let me know what you think of this blog, and how I can improve it.
And, remember, until tomorrow,
Be Happy!
Be Healthy!
Be Active!
