Monday Already!!!

Hey there all you one readers!  Here I am, back and hard at it.  (You know, I always take my laptop with me and have BIG plans for working and getting lots done.)  This trip, I did a little work on Thursday, and then, there was just so much to do, and so many people to see, that I did no other work, and I am paying for that today.  😱

Today is Day 4 of my 39 days of running at least one mile.  I ALMOST had myself talked out of this today, and was going to lift weights, and so I had to have a very STERN talk with myself, and am I glad I did.  This felt great today.

First, G and I got a decent 2.10 mile jalk in, I think our average was right at 17 minute mile,  (I know that is pretty slow really, but G has to stop and smell a lot of roses)  I took him home and then I went out and did another 1.38 miles with an average pace of 14.01.50Image-1

I know this is REALLY slow to what some of you do, but my goal is to add just a little distance each day, and reduce the time by seconds EACH day, and eventually, maybe by the end of day 39, I will have a pretty good time.

I did NOT do the green smoothie today.  It is not that I do not like doing that, but it was just not satiating enough, so today for my breakfast I had greens, crab meat, celery, one boiled egg.  This was much more filling.

I am also trying to increase my metabolism, so, from the research I have done, it is more important to get more lean protein, and if necessary, add a healthy snack in there.  Does anyone out there know methods to increase your metabolism?  If you do, please send me an e-mail

And give me some information.  I have done a lot f research on this, so far, what I have learned is that you need to SLOWLY increase you caloric intake, and also, again, slowly increase your workout or running.  For example, a (beginner) runner like me, maybe try sprints.  Jog a little, and then do some sprinting, and then walk, and repeat.  Do you know anything about this?

Speaking of “Snacks”.  The snacks I took on this trip came in really handy.  Since we got to our hotel mid afternoon, and were not having dinner till 6, we had a little of the nuts and dried fruit and jerky to tied us over till dinner.  On the trip home, the meal choice was cereal, a muffin and nothing else.  We both passed on that and we had jerky left, some nuts, and one protein bar.  All of that came in REALLY handy.  I think I may do the same when we go to New York, just in case.

Did everyone have a good weekend?  How about you Mother Readers!  Did you have a good Mothers Day?  I was not with my children, but I have the most WONDERFUL children in the universe, seriously!  They both called and wished me Happy Mothers Day, (I had already received my gifts from them), and just the fact they called means the world to me.  Thank You wonderful children!

I do have a few pictures from South Dakota to share with you.  In Sioux Falls, there is what is called The Falls, which is exactly what it says.  These are falls.  On Saturday afternoon, some of the nieces and nephews were bored stupid, so they asked us if we would go to the falls with them, and since we were going to go out and walk anyway, we ALL went to the falls.IMG_0585.jpgIMG_0584.jpg

IMG_0583.jpg It is really very pretty and we spent about an hour walking around.  This was good because I got a little one on one time with these guys!

We had also made a few other stops, and ran into this!

IMG_0575.jpg  The hubs was looking for a new light weight jacket, and thought this store might have one.  Funny thing, he actually found one he loved!

Well kiddies, I know this is a little shorter today, but I still have a lot of catching up to do, and it is almost 3 already, sorry.  I should be all caught up tomorrow, so I will post my usual macros, caloric intake and burn, and lots of other misc things.
