My Journey

My Life, one day at a time!

Hello all!  Here we go again, just another day in paradise.  The weather is so nice out, the humidity is very low, it just makes walking and jogging easier.

Same old same old this morning, we all walked and coffeed, again very nice, then I brought G up to his pillow and ice water, and I went out for a “jog”.  I was AVERAGE today, ok, maybe a little slower than average, but steady.  This was my pace today

Tomorrow, hopefully, I will feel like jogging again, I am going to work on the same distance, but a little faster.  Today is day 19 of 39 days of running one mile.  Slowly, I AM getting there.

My caloric intake yesterday was 1565 calories, and my caloric burn was 1882 calories.364Image-1

I am so constant on this, usually between 1800 and 1900 calories burned.  My macros yesterday were264Image-1

This also is pretty consistent for me, I need to work on getting a little more protein and a little less fat.  I realized, with all of the fruits and vegetables I eat, I probably will not get my carb count much below this, but I have found that I do feel better when I have more carbs.

I think I need a little more sodium today, I am getting that brain fog feeling.

On to other topics.  Do you recycle?  Well, if you don’t you should!  I used to recycle as much as I could, and then they kind of quit doing that in the building.  So, I could not do it any longer.

Recently, they have really started to agressively encourage people to recycle.  I have  recycled our cardboard boxes. I break them down and take them to the recycle bin.  Since they have started to encourage recycling, I have started to recycle EVERYTHING I can.  When I started this, the hubs said we didn’t not have that much to recycle.  It is amazing how much you really do have.  I take down one bag, I use old grocery bags, they work great, plus you are recycling them, but I take one of these down almost every day.  I did not realize you are supposed to “clean” the recycleables so I started just putting these in the dish washer before I put them in the bag.

I had also read an article on plastic some time ago, and it stated, because there is so much plastic in the ocean, that if plastic production isn’t curbed, plastic pollution will outweigh fish pound for pound by 2050.  That just was mind boggling.  Needless to say, that was a lot of encouragement for me to start recycling.

This article also stated when plastic bottles are recycled, the recycled plastic is such low quality that it cannot be used to make new bottles. The material is instead sold to China to make cheap carpets and textiles, most of which just end up in landfills.

This same article stated that people are more likely to recycle aluminum, over plastic.  Why is that do you suppose?  They can crush aluminum, make it smaller?  No clue, but, if you do not already recycle, I encourage you to do so.

Did you know that June 8th is Save the Ocean Day?  I am going to share this with you.  I do not work with this company, but I feel this is a really good company and you should check it out.  Many of  you may have heard of this, 4 Ocean.

I would love to hear your feedback
